Found along a hiking trail where many have passed and few have paused. I didn’t rearrange anything to photograph this. It was just here, waiting to be discovered, a natural composition. Isn’t it odd how we often strive to engulf ourselves in nature but never give ourselves permission to absorb the healing or peace that it offers?
About Amy Green
A self-taught artist who was born and raised in Northern Michigan, she now resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. Living amid mountains and rivers allows her easy access to hike, bike, and kayak, which are also favorite pastimes. Nature and spiritual elements are frequent elements in her work and there is typically a story that accompanies each piece in the process of its completion. Movement, light and color are all constantly displayed with brilliance as a common theme. She believes that a painting is like life, a journey and layered with meaning and therefor, many thin, near transparent layers are a well used technique.
