I will be honest here-- in the beginning of this, as the white canvas and collection of brushes stood untouched, I remembered a lot of things. As I painted, I didn't not feel like everything was okay. Indeed, it wasn't. But the longer I painted, the more I understood that there are parts of me that are "okay" even when the entire world around me screams otherwise. My soul is well. I am okay. And, honestly, when I am in the presence of the One who created me and loves me with an everlasting love, I am wholehearted and complete. It doesn't make sense to someone who doesn't know my God. I'm awestruck at it myself, but I assure you that here, in this painting, I found that place. It is a place of calm and rest. It is the truth that I'm okay. I'm going to make it. And that truly, it IS well with my soul.
